Inside Sales Consultant

The Inside Sales Consultant is responsible for prospecting and qualifying new sales opportunities in the assigned territory and, additionally, proactively seeking out and closing new leads and meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working closely with all members of the internal and external sales team and driving delivery of both the monthly and annual sales target.
  • Building a network in the assigned territory by attending weekly morning and evening networking events;
  • Prospecting and qualifying new sale opportunities in the assigned territory;
  • Making outbound calls to cold & partially qualified leads within our target markets;
  • Accurately managing a pipeline of forecasted opportunities to meet weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual quota objectives;
  • Building executive/owner level relationships as well as establishing meetings with a broad array of executives  and owners - proactively selling into multiple levels;
  • Supporting the external Account Managers;
  • Performing Account Management activities for assigned accounts;
  • Effectively communicating the value of the Company’s solutions and managing prospect expectations;
  • Receiving requests for service and product details from prospects and providing timely responses;
  • Achieving and maintaining a positive rapport with prospects and working to give them the best possible service;
  • Maintaining an in-depth product knowledge of the service offerings of the Company;
  • Properly entering all sales leads and prospects into the Company’s PSA tool in a timely manner;
  • Performing sales processes through activities and opportunities the Company’s PSA tool and remaining  compliant with defined policies and procedures;
  • Working through a daily list of sales activities in the Company’s PSA tool;
  • Communicating and reporting sales forecasts to the Sales Manager.


Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business awareness - specific knowledge of the client and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals;
  • Attending weekly sales meetings and ensuring sales opportunities are compliant with company policy;
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of the service catalogue and how it relates to customer’s needs;
  • Documenting internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities;
  • Reviewing IT publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry;
  • Entering all work as activities, service tickets, or project tickets into the Company’s PSA tool;
  • Being responsible for entering time and expenses in the PSA tool as they occur.


To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to excel at each essential duty. The Inside Sales Consultant should also have the following abilities:

  • Graduate educated, ideally in marketing or business
  • Proven consultative sales experience;
  • Proven successful internal sales experience, ideally including sales of value added IT solutions;
  • Proven successful track record in a target driven outbound sales environment;
  • Experience of selling solutions in business to business markets;
  • Experience of selling to prospects at all levels;
  • Strong negotiation skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care;
  • Be confident on the phone with the ability to make multiple phone calls each day;
  • Strong organisational, presentational and customer service skills;
  • Skill in planning and preparing written communications;
  • Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills;
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly;
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively;
  • Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details;
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment.
